Comments from those who grew to Rise In Peace with Good Cheer!
#1 Son "Every moment with you was great mama! Wouldn't trade you for all the knowledge or martial arts in the world."
L. Bradley "You helped me by treating me like your own. You made me feel a part of your family, when I am really not. You make me feel like I have a mom I can talk to when I really need it."
D. Cuzican "You've always had helpful words for me. The ones that really stick out though is when I had a relationship split up. I was heart broken and you helped me see that it would all be ok."
A. Zariah "Although we had never met, you helped me with a surprise gift in the mail at a time in my life when I was homeless. very grateful to you!"
P. Brewer "Your loving kindness and sincere love and care when Uncle was at his low point in life was genuinely one of the highest points in my life; knowing things would be alright. I love, respect and deeply honor YOU!"
B. Bagby "You've always been someone I thought highly of. Mysterious, smart, kind, FUNNY, and most of all genuine. You are authentic at a time when many are going to great lengths to hide themselves. YOU are indeed a special person I'm blessed to call friend."
L. Ramirez "You have been my courage when I was afraid, my sister when I needed one, my cheering section when I was down."
K. Counts "I talked, and you listened with your heart. Always grateful."
D. Zagol "I met Good Cheer when I was 19 years old at a bus stop of all places. I was an international student at the time and had been in the US for less than 6 months. I was in a very tough situation because I lived with a host family that lived very far from school and it took me 3 hours each way by bus (I had to change 3 buses) to get back and forth from school. When I met Good Cheer she befriended me immediately and without much hesitation after hearing my story she told me that I was welcome to move and live at her home with her children. I could not believe that someone who had only known me for a few days would do something so great! Not only was I closer to school, but I had a real family in the US. I still remember the day I moved in Good Cheer’s house – December 10th, 1999. I had such a great time while I lived with Good Cheer and I always felt like a part of the family. Good Cheer has 3 children and I was number # 4. Good Cheer’s grandparents were my grandparents, her cousins, aunts, and uncles became my cousins, aunts, and uncles! I was surrounded by so much love and I was truly happy that I met Good Cheer. She opened her home to a stranger and I am forever grateful. I lived with Good Cheer’s family for 8 months and the experiences I had with her family will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
